About Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE)

How to Invest in NEPSE

To start investing in the Nepal Stock Exchange, you first need to open a Demat (dematerialized) account through a Depository Participant (DP), which is typically a bank or brokerage firm. You will need your Nepali citizenship certificate or passport, recent photographs, and a bank account. Once your Demat account is active, register on MEROSHARE (meroshare.cdsc.com.np) – the online portal managed by CDS and Clearing Ltd. (CDSC) – to apply for IPOs and manage your share portfolio electronically.

Next, select a SEBON-licensed stockbroker from the 50 authorized brokers in Nepal. Your broker will execute buy and sell orders on your behalf through the NEPSE Automated Trading System (NATS). Many brokers now offer TMS (Trading Management System) for online trading, allowing you to place orders from your computer or mobile phone. For IPO investments, you can apply through MEROSHARE using the C-ASBA process, where the application amount is blocked (not debited) in your bank account until allotment is confirmed. The minimum application for most IPOs is 10 units (kittas).
